Welcome Home - For Returning Catholic
Welcome Home is a process for “returning” or “fallen-away” Catholics who want to come back to
the
church. There are many reasons why people become “fallen-away”, “alienated”, or
“non-practicing”
Catholics. Whatever the reason, we at Divine Redeemer invite anyone interested
in returning to the
church to consider joining the Welcome Home program. It is here that
individuals are given an opportunity
to share their hurt and pain, ask questions, renew their
knowledge and understanding of our Catholic faith,
be healed and reconciled, and become
active,
participating members of our community.
The Welcome Home process will include several informal Gathering Sessions: October 1, November 5 and
December 3, 7 to 8 PM in the All Saints Center.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults:
Divine Redeemer invites all people interested in learning about the Catholic faith or becoming Catholic to join us in the RCIA process.
The RCIA is the “Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults” and involves the sacraments of Baptism,
Confirmation, and the Eucharist. It is a process of conversion, conversion of heart and mind. It takes
place in four stages.
Stage One: Inquiry - The first stage focuses on getting to know one another. We will share
stories of persons and events in our faith life, and hear stories that answer some questions
about Catholic life and practices.
Stage Two: Catechumenate - Those who feel called to a fuller life in the Catholic Faith are
enrolled as a Catechumen and begin a deeper study of Catholic beliefs and practices.
Stage Three: Enlightenment & Purification - In the Lenten season we enter a period of more
intense formation in Catholic spirituality in preparation for full initiation at the Easter Vigil.
Stage Four: Mystagogia - This final stage of the process will formally end at Pentecost. It is a
time of deep reflection on the mysteries of our faith and what that faith means as we live it
out as disciples of Jesus.
Sessions are held on Tuesday Evenings at 6:30-8:30 Pm in the All Saints Center
Adult Bible Study: MATTHEW: The King and His Kingdom
The Great Adventure Bible Series that we will study this year is the Gospel of Matthew.
This series has been developed by Jeff Cavins who is a theologian, a renowned Biblical
scholar, author, and TV/Radio personality.
“Matthew: The King and His Kingdom” shows how Jesus builds on the foundation laid
in the Old Testament to inaugurate the Kingdom of Heaven of earth. Experience how
Jesus relived the life and struggles of Israel to become the faithful and victorious King,
and see how the promises of the Old Testatment are fulfilled in Christ and his apostles.

Friday, January 8th, 2010 9:30 to 11:30 am in the Community Center Alcove

Endow:
ENDOW is a Catholic, volunteer, non-profit organization which educates on the nature
and dignity of women. It was founded in April 2003 by a group of lay women who were
inspired by the grace of God to put together a message which would educate individuals
on the beautiful teachings of Pope Johm Paul II regarding the true dignity of women.
As this inspiration came to life, the organization of ENDOW was formed and committees
were created to begin the work necessary to promote the Pope’s message on
the “New Feminism.”
Why Catholic?:
A Journey through the New Catechism based on the four pillars of the Catholic Church:
Creed, Sacrament, Morality, and Prayer. This is a great way to take a new look at
what we believe and why we believe it.
