  Sunday School

The goal of the Christian Formation Program at Divine Redeemer is to promote conversion which leads to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. The textbook series we use is "Walking By Faith". We also focus on the weekly Sunday Readings

Curriculum Design:

The "Walking By Faith" curriculum is rooted in the Cathecism of the Catholic Churh. It is a catechetical program centered on the powerful, essential message of the Gospel. The basics of the Catholic faith are presented at every grade in an age-appropriate manner. The lessons are designed to help young people experinece their Catholic identity, integrate their Catholic values, and express their Catholic beliefs. Through this series the students are introduced to the richness of our past, engaged in the realities of our present, and develop skills to meet the challenges of our future.

By incorporating the Sunday Readings into our curriculum we are able to deepen the student's appreciation and understanding of doctrine and scripture. This also an excellent way to prepare the students for fuller participation in the Sunday liturgy. The background information, activities, and discussion questions we use are designed to meet specific needs of the variouslevels of development. Thisa format helps students respond to God's word as it is discovered in the linking of life experience to doctrine, ritual, community and, liturgical celebration.
