newprincipal

Divine Redeemer is excited to announce our new principal, Kim Elsmore. Mrs. Elsmore will begin her tenure on July 1, 2023; you can learn a bit about her below. We hope our parish and school joins in praying for a smooth transition for her and her family.

Hello! My name is Kim Elsmore, and I am honored to serve as the next Principal at Divine Redeemer. I am a Florida native, but moved to Colorado after college to work for the Fellowship of Catholic University Students at CSU and UNC.  My husband, Kevin, and I met playing flag football for Catholic Sports!
I attended Florida State University, where I earned by B.S. in Secondary Math Education as well as my Teacher’s Certification in Mathematics 6-12 grade.  Before kids, I taught middle school math and religion in the Archdiocese of Denver for six years.   During that time, I created a “Train the Trainer” program to support high school students leading middle school students in one-day retreats.  I served as the Student Council Advisor and helped with the accreditation process for my school.
After pausing my teaching career to start a family, I earned my M.A. in Theology with an emphasis on Leadership in the New Evangelization from the Augustine Institute and ran the nursery program for St. Mary in Littleton.  In August 2015, we moved across the country to Florida, where I worked for the Diocese of Venice as the Family Life Coordinator.  There, I successfully implemented a new Marriage Preparation program that focused on evangelization for 61 out of 64 parishes while planning Men’s and Women’s Conferences ranging from 300-2,000 participants with over 30 volunteers. Within my first few years, I increased the programs offered by 300%.
In February 2020, we moved back to Colorado, right before the pandemic.  It was a whirlwind year!  I spent two years as a learning specialist, technology specialist, and middle school Math teacher, while also earning a certification from ASDEC in Multisensory Math.   This past year, I taught 7/8 Math and 8 Science that implemented real-world activities that improved student engagement.   I have implemented and provided direct support on new technology that saved teachers time with their lesson plans.
In my spare time, I have a love for faith, family, and sports.  I have two children, Elizabeth – 3rd grade and Mary – Kindergarten.  As a new member of the Divine Redeemer community, I have been impressed by the school’s commitment to academic excellence and faith formation.  I am excited to serve all the families and staff and to build upon this strong foundation and help our students grow in their faith and academic achievement.
