Anointing of the Sick- The Rite of Anointing tells us there is no need to wait until a person is at the point of death to receive the sacrament. A person should be anointed before surgery or when a faced with a dangerous illness. For those who are about to depart from this life, the Church offers the person Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, and the Eucharist as Viaticum (food for the journey) given at the end of life. These are "the sacraments that prepare for our heavenly homeland" (cf. CCC, no. 1525). Please contact the parish office if you or a loved one is in need of this sacrament.

Baptism — Arrangements for Infant Baptism must be made in advance by calling the parish office at 719-633-5559.  A Baptism Registration Form, Click here available on the website, will need to be completed and turned into the parish office. If you are not a member of the parish, you need to obtain a letter of permission from your parish church acknowledging that your child has permission to be baptized here. Parents must have attended a Baptism preparation class. To register for the class, please call the parish office.

First Reconciliation and First Communion — A child, at least seven years of age, must have completed the previous year of formal religious education in a Catholic school, the parish program or in their previous parish and be currently enrolled in the parish program, Catholic school or approved homeschool program. A child who receives catechesis as part of an overall home school program must follow text that is currently listed on the conformity list approved by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Registration for sacramental preparation occurs each fall. Please contact the Director of Religious Education for more information.

Confirmation — A child, in 8th-12th grade, must have completed the previous year of formal religious education in a Catholic school, the parish program or in their previous parish and be currently enrolled in the parish program, Catholic school or approved homeschool program. A child who receives catechesis as part of an overall home school program must follow text that is currently listed on the conformity list approved by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Registration for sacramental preparation occurs each fall. Confirmation is celebrated during the Easter season, depending upon the bishop’s schedule. Adult Confirmation-Adults, over the age of 18, who are baptized Catholic, have received the Sacrament of the Eucharist, and are practicing, active members of the parish community may complete a preparation program for Adult Confirmation, which begins after Easter. Candidates will be confirmed by the bishop with the parish youth preparing for Confirmation. Please contact the Director of Religious Education for more information.

Matrimony: Those individuals who are planning to marry in the Catholic Church, are requested to begin their marriage preparation at least one year before the planned date. Please contact the parish office to coordinate this training.
