On behalf of Father Jason Keas and the entire Divine Redeemer Staff, we are pleased to announce Dr. Eliana Murphy-Ellis has accepted our Director of Music Ministry position. She is expected to start on August 8, 2022.
Dr. Eliana Murphy-Ellis has been the Director of Sacred Music at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Security, CO since 2019. She has led the Adult Choir, St. Hildegard Schola Choir, and the children’s choirs at St. Dominic. She has also acted as the organist, pianist, and cantor for Masses, funerals and weddings, programming a variety of music, including hymnody, contemporary music, chant, sacred polyphony, and classical music.
Prior to her work at St. Dominic, Dr. Murphy-Ellis was the K-8 Music Teacher at Corpus Christi Catholic School, and the director of the St. Cecilia Schola Cantorum, a children’s choral program, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Moreover, during part of her time at Corpus Christi, she also led a youth choir and youth praise band, and an after-school drama club as well. Additionally, she was a faculty member at the Colorado Springs Conservatory. She has 18 years of experience as a private piano teacher. Musical shows and plays Dr. Murphy-Ellis has directed include Annie Kids, The Lady Pirates of the Caribbean; The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe; a simplified version of A Midsummer Night's Dream; and various musical versions of Bible stories.
